Dashboard
  • Shows your account information immediately after login.
  • Displays Olickhom paybill number 4108857.
  • Your account name is your username.
Best starting point
  • Send one test SMS to yourself first.
  • Confirm delivery, wording, and credits before a big campaign.
  • Use templates when you want repeat campaigns to stay consistent.
Useful formats
  • Plain numbers can be entered as 254706634905, +254706634905, or 0706634905.
  • Group SMS Excel file should have headers for First name, Last name, and Contacts.
  • Bulk Airtime CSV should contain Contacts and Amount of airtime.
1. Outbox and export reports
  1. Open Outbox to view sent SMS records.
  2. Use the export option when you need downloadable reports.
  3. Select the date period you want, click Search, then click Export to Excel.
2. Send single SMS
  1. Open Send Single SMS.
  2. Enter one recipient number and compose your message.
  3. Use this for testing, proof-reading, or verifying your sender setup before a bulk send.
3. Create groups and send group SMS
  1. Go to Address Book and create a group.
  2. Prepare an Excel workbook with three headers: First name, Last name, and Contacts.
  3. If first name or last name is not available, keep those columns but leave their cells blank.
  4. Upload the completed Excel file into the selected group.
  5. After upload succeeds, open Bulk SMS, choose Send Group SMS, tick the group on the right, and write your message.
  6. For personalization, write your greeting first, then insert first name or last name where needed.
  7. Click Send SMS to send immediately, or use Send Later to schedule your campaign.
4. Send bulk SMS without saving contacts
  1. Use Send Bulk SMS when you do not want to save numbers in the portal.
  2. Paste the numbers into the mobile number box on the right.
  3. Accepted formats include 254706634905, +254706634905, and 0706634905.
  4. Write your message and send.
5. Custom SMS, templates, and pending-message controls
  • Send Custom SMS: Sends different messages to different recipients. Common for schools, financial institutions, and insurance companies. Use the custom Excel template for this workflow.
  • Templates: Save message formats for reuse. When sending later, pick the target group, choose the template, and the message is inserted into the compose box.
  • Pause | Resume | Approve: Use this when you spot an error and need to stop pending messages before they are sent. Purging pending entries returns the units for messages that have not yet gone out.
6. Reports, inbox, and email add-on
  • Reports: Shows detailed delivery status including delivered, failed, and rejected messages.
  • Inbox: Used for two-way communication when recipients reply through a 5-digit code. Additional cost may apply.
  • Bulk Email: Works like bulk SMS and is charged at Ksh 0.50 per email. Request activation if you need it.
7. Address book, API apps, partners, and users
  • Address Book: Create multiple groups and upload contacts for each group before sending targeted campaigns.
  • API Apps: Used for bulk airtime integration. Upload a CSV with two columns: contacts and airtime amount.
  • Partners: For resellers onboarding clients on a customized portal, then creating users under each partner.
  • Users: Create users with lower privileges so the main admin account does not need to be shared.
